Detailed Scheduling & Planning

Materials & Capacity Requirements Planning
Certified in Production & Inventory Management

We currently have no scheduled session for this Training Course. If you are interested in running this course, please contact our Training Department at info@copex.org.uk

The Course

This module of the CPIM program includes inventory management, materials requirements planning (MRP), capacity requirements planning (CRP) and procurement and supplier planning for both goods and services.

Detailed scheduling and planning translates product level plans and schedules generated at the master planning level into requirements that can be procured or produced in all types of environments, including process and service industries.

This process supports the strategies and objectives established by the company as constrained by lead time, cost, equipment, personnel, sustainability issues or other constraints. The subject matter covers anything required to bridge the master planning area with the execution and control of the operations.
In addition, the planning, scheduling, resource allocation and implementation of projects is discussed for managing the supply of products and services.

By the conclusion of the course, the candidate should have a good understanding of:

  • How to use inventory policies to minimise inventory and still meet customer service objectives
  • Recognising when to use which capacity technique and how that technique supports the master schedule and production plan
  • Knowing how to apply standard formulae and algorithms for material and capacity planning
  • Understanding supplier partnerships and relationships and the best way to communicate the company’s future requirements
  • Explaining procurement planning and supply chain options
